If we are just going to use TSA as a jobs program, why not just pay them to hide in the back room and play cards instead of harassing pax?

I flew out of MGW for years, and most of the pax were frequent flyers who were on a first name basis with all airport employees - airline and TSA. There were not that many of us.

CKB and MGW aren't that far apart for driving, but CKB is the home of a major FBI facility (courtesy of Senator Robert C. Byrd), while MGW is home to the state's major university. No wonder they have have airports despite their small size!

I've been working in FLG for the past few months, and apparently the Tusayan Airport near the entrance to the Grand Canyon National Park will be opening to more commercial flights, in addition to the helicopter tours of the Canyon that are currently offered, in the near future.

TSA ran newspaper ads (well that's better than pizza boxes!) saying something to the effect of:

"Would you like to have X-ray vision? Part-time work with full benefits?"

Apparently they were hiring people to work split shifts, and less than 40 hours per week. But they still get the whole generous federal benefits package.
