I hate to say it but we used a ritz [stars] agent,did not book a basic room and did not get an upgrade at key Biscayne.
The hotel was quite full at the time.

We enjoyed all the other facilities there mind you,so I'd agree with NYBanker that if you choose there,it better not be fully booked! Go for an ocean view though and a suite if you can.

I'd still opt for Fort Lauderdale though,a thoroughly lovely spot or the mandarin which is very nice.
