I did this one time by accident. (don't ask, blonde moment......)

Delta was not amused since they had paged me several times. I did get rebooked, but honestly it was not fun and I was at the gate just after pushback. Plus my seats etc on the flights home a few days later were gone....

I had a nice gate agent and was a pain. You get one who thinks you are 'gaming' and all bets could be off!
