That would be a wise mans answer to the problem!

But not really a solution if you are sitting in Germany and your target is LAX.

Of course I called them about a week ago. The customer service (at LAX) told me, that they do not have the new jag yet and that it would be coming in Oktober (= too late).

The german reservation told me - after calling LAX a second time, that a new jag could be ready for me in September...

Now I am in the process of verifing that with the station manager (over the german customer service). Which can take days without the guaranty of a definite answer.

As I see the whole thing (after renting luxury cars at Hertz LAX for many years), my chances of getting a 2004 Model in September are pretty good: Last year I got a 2003 Navigator at the beginning of August.

The problem seems to me, that nobody is willing to garantee anything to me until only 2004 Models are being rented (which I understand).

The only thing I would like to know is, when they start to deploy the new cars, so I know that I have a fair chance of getting one.

Tough one? Lets see.

Any better Ideas? Perhaps someone sees a new XJ8 at Hertz these days...
