Check if LHR-CPH is available standalone on the dates you want.

It is entirely possible that EWR-LHR and LHR-CPH are available separately, but show as unavailable when you're looking for EWR-CPH.

If so, you can call EC and do it on the phone. And insist that you shouldn't pay offline fees!
