Not having any experiences like this, I can't say for sure. However, what I would do is: Since your hubby can always make a reservation on his own. Contact Hertz a day before you're supposed to pickup the car. Tell them what's going on. Inform them that you'd like your husband to pick up the car. They may agree and just put a notation in the record about what's going on. I'd say it'd be better than your hubby turning up (and with a different name) trying to pick up your car.

If they say no, then he can make the reservation before he gets there.
