Not really true. On many airlines they will give you a pass to get through security to access a club. My last experience in MCO, flying CO different concourse and security I was allowed to go to US Airways concourse to get to the club and I did not even need a pass as I just showed them my PC card.
Yeah, but how do you get your checked bags past security to take them to the club? Unless they're carryon size I don't see how that will work.
I'd say take the cab to Manhattan with your bags and store them there.
