Given the soaring cost of fuel and the capital involved in aircraft refurbishment (overhaul of 763 + 744 fleet, refreshment of most narrow bodies, acquiring MD90, etc.), I doubt the 330 will be a priority. Expect to see BE overhauled long before Y.
Some ex-NWers have a hard time with this because the 330 was the best in the fleet before the merge... Hate the AVOD on the old NW aircraft - slow, horrible navigation, and lame(r) content.
It's a matter of preference. (Nearly) Everybody agrees the new BE product is better than the old WBC, but again, it's a generation newer. Many of us prefer the former WBC to the old BE but again, it's about preferences; I know that persons of girth often struggled with pod seats. We think the 330 offers a smoother, quieter ride. And in the back, we think the 330 seats are way more comfortable than the paper-thin 764 seats. Yes, the 330's AVOD is showing its age but it's better than what's available on most of the long-haul fleet (absolutely NOTHING). And I'm always amused by the comments about the content because DL has streamlined it... and is no where near as generous with content offering as NW was.

It's not like the DC-10s were much different than the 763s

. In fact, I prefer the much larger cabin of the DC-10 vs. the 763. And J wasn't that brutal... comparable to Business on most domestic airlines in the 1990s. But it would've helped if NW had updated its seat fabric...
