I don't think most Americans/Euros will be all that surprised with this - and not scared - it is a well-known Japanese custom and they know they're not in "Kansas" anymore.
My biggest gripe is the lack of substantial food offerings in this so-called "premium" lounge. They need to take a lesson from LH, TG, and even SQ on this point. Perhaps some Japanese "comfort foods" such as hamburger steak with daikon or a tonkatsu? Or a heavenly (real) sushi bar - not that would be sublime for a lounge!
They do this in OZ F too. And SQ F (though not in the lounges). I have (surprise!) even had two very accommodating and hospitable UA FAs (both male pursers) kneel down to talk with me in the cabin, so as to be at eye level. Always excellent service when this happens.
As for the NH F lounge, I am looking forward to trying it!
