A Hertz First.... Penalty for Early Return
I was able to wrap up my trip early this week, so I headed on out for Dulles and turned my car in. Reviewed the receipt and discovered I'd been charged for 4 days, even though the receipt clearly showed I'd only had the car three days.
I headed for the counter to dispute the charge, to be told that Hertz' policy is to charge for the number of days reserved if you turn the car in early. The clerk told me he had worked for Hertz for nine years and this had always been their policy. He did agree to credit me for the day, but wasn't particularly happy about it.
Has anyone else had this experience?
