Blown tire at PDX -- Hertz charging for this?
I rented a car over 4th of July weekend at PDX and had a flat tire while driving on the freeway. Hertz quickly responded when I called roadside assistance, and they swapped the car for me.
Now, 4 months later, they're sending me a standard form letter telling me that I was in an accident or my vehicle was damaged or stolen, and I am responsible.
It's only $69, but it seems a bit petty to me. Even if this is normal practice, as a #1 Club Gold member, don't the cut someone some slack for a blown tire? I view this as a roadside issue, not an accident. For all I know, the tire could have been improperly inflated to begin with.
Anyone else have such an experience with Hertz?
