I don't believe I have to be in Israel for 330 days a year. I think it is enough that I am out of the US for that long. Even that may not be necessary as I pass the Bona Fide Resident test, having established residence here in 1979.
Still, this really besides the point. I am an Amex card holder, have been for many years, and until a few years ago Amex was willing to mail my cards to my home (Bank of America still sends my Visa to me).
When I started this thread, Amex had decided it could only mail it to its office in Tel Aviv or to an American address. In April, it told me it could no longer send it to its Tel Aviv office (but could send a temporary card there). Now it is telling me that it can not give me a card for my son (although it has for my daughter) unless I change my address to an American one.
All this, it says, because of the "security" of the card.
