Some folks are definitely Boeing fans (perhaps because this gives them a sense of patriotism). Those who are biased because Boeing has the HQs in the US need not post, IMO.
I can't comment on the "more quiet", and I don't know which aircraft is newer, but the new J seats in the 764 without a doubt have a newer feel to them over the pod seats.

I do know that the A333 is one of the most fuel efficient a/c in the fleet.
