All of the comments you make are reasonable and appear valid.
But in reality the only sure way of increasing your satisfaction is by reducing (considerably) your expectations.
I do fully accept that my expectations may have been much higher than what is realistic. I really had little knowledge on what to expect, except that the flights can cost several thousand pounds to buy in cash. Of course most people who fly business class do seem to say that it is noway near worth its cost in cash.
If you expected (at best) slightly more than being further back for an unjustifiable increase in miles and/or cash then you will be more satisfied.
I have read this 5 times and I am still not sure what you are saying.
