Moving to Jakarta and having real problems looking for accommodation - all the rental properties I see on the websites are either in huge apartment blocks or huge houses. And they all look the same. Surely, there are houses without the usual 50 bedrooms and 20 bathrooms or huge winding staircases and gigantic chandeliers?
Jakarta has quite a price spread of accommodations. You can find a Kost where locals rent a room for $50 a month, or a 8 bedroom, 1 acre place that is $10k a month.
If you give some guidance on where in Jakarta you're looking for, an apartment, house, etc, I can give you some info from my stays in CGK.
