CX pass not a viable option for this sort of trip, as you generally have to keep round-tripping back through Hong Kong. The CX pass is a better choice for those who have some far-flung needs all in the same trip both north and south of HKG. Like HKG-PEK-HKG + HKG-BKK-HKG + HKG-DPS-HKG. And this pass requires flying TPAC on CX, which is not usually a cheap option amongst the airlines. I'm not sure a CX Asia pass is useable with an award ticket...I thought it had to be a paid TPAC fare.
