Kindly ask the lead steward on the aircraft if you can have a discussion with the pilot regarding compression and decompression as you enter the aircraft. If you can get to the gate early without seeming like a crazy terrorist you may catch the pilot if he/she is also boarding early.

Ask the pilot if he can take the compression and decompression slowly upon descent.

When I was young I had huge inner ear pressure issues Every single time I have had a conversation with the pilot my ears were fine.


Also please ignore anyone including a steward that says the pilot has no control over pressure issues because they always do something right that prevents pain.
