Well when the chairs occupy prime oceanfront position, they will be definitely in demand. I know it sucks that guests rush down to secure them but that's just the luck of the game. And the rooms? I have stayed here before and after the renovations, and the rooms IMO is definitely not lack-luster now.
I'm guessing all the rooms have been renovated? I found ours to not be of a very nice decor. On the positive side the bed was very comfortable so that is a key point.
It probably wouldn't have been as negative an experience and I shouldn't compare to Hyatt as we stay there so much that they treat us really really well.
