I wouldn't even do that for a 747 vs. CRJ; I'm sorry but I can survive just about anything for a 1 hr flight + 2 hrs timesavings.

I do it all the time. I could fly PIA-DEN non-stop on a CR2, but prefer to connect in ORD for widebody service.
