Don't ask don't tell seems like a good play here: FAQ says your wife doesn't need to be added on, she's automatically authorized. It doesn't say "Spouses 25 and over".
Looks like I might need to lean that way. I was chatting with a Hertz rep yesterday. She said there will be additional charge because she is underage. Though she said, it's a not a charge for her being an authorized driver. It's a charge for being underage! Weird!!
