They're worse as they already weren't that convenient with a late night departure ex-HKG / super early AM return to HKG (a function of inbound ORD/SFO flights of course) - but now they're even later and even earlier, respectively.

I get that that's what they had to do to link up with EWR-NRT and NRT-EWR though. They're no longer optimized to route into HKG-SFO/ORD.
