I grab the soaps, mess up the bed, run the shower for a moment or two, and then make it look like a used a tower. Have not had any problems- yet

- must clean bed, linen, etc --> use water, detergents, workforce

why would one mess up the bed etc? this is an amateurish and strategy.
and why taking the soap? hotel soap using at home? come on!
for phantom stays one only needs to do the check-in, go to the room, leave the key and go out of the hotel @:-)
