The point is that dehubbing NRT to use GUM for an Asia connecting hub makes about as much sense as dehubbing ORD for CLE, which is why UA isn't going to do it, aside from the fact that it isn't actually all that conveniently located anyway (given that lots of UA's Asia traffic isn't actually bound for places that are better served out of GUM- NRT is much better for China, and oh yeah, there's actual *A partners to connect to out of NRT).

The sky isn't falling, folks, and UA hasn't decided that Guam is the best hub in the Pacific to serve Asian customers from. GUM is an O/D market for CO. Period. Now, can we move to the usual topics: how terrible CO seats are, how they suck at IROPS, how nobody in their right mind would fly a 757 to Europe?
