Only four keys for a two bedroom RI suite?!
The rooms are described on the website as accommodating six. We have five in a couple of our rooms. At check in I was told that any key made after four voids the previous four keys. As a result, one person in each room cannot have a room key. And when that person gets locked out and goes to the front desk to get a key, the other four guests get locked out because their keys no longer work. What a total PITA for all concerned, from us to the poor folks at the front desk who are going to be making an awful lot of keys for us over the next five days.
I have two questions:
1)Was the clerk at check in correct about the four key limit? Is there really no way to set the system up to allow more?
2)If so, is it reasonable for a hotel to have a key system that is incapable of providing a key for each occupant of a room? Given the inconvenience this is going to cause us, I don't think so.
