Like you said, compared to QF, BA offers 25% of the miles for the discount economy ticket I am holding. The QF programme's redemption is expensive (about 15% higher than usual e.g. 87,000 instead of 70,000 for a SIN-LON return, correct me if I am wrong) and also offers very little miles (25%) for discounted flights on BA. AA is in the middle, giving 50% for my cheap tickets on either QF or BA.
It is incorrect. If you fly on BA and credit to Qantas on flights other than the UK-Asia/Australia flights you will earn 25% mileage. If you credit to AA you will earn 100% mileage. AA redemptions are generally a lot better value than qantas ( especially for business/1st travel ) and I would take 50% to AA on this trip and 100% on all future BA trips.

If you can change you QF flight to the BA codeshare ( BA7306 ) rather than the QF number 6 , then you can stay on the same flight and earn 100% to Aadvantage

The 20,000 points you would earn is enough for a 1 way off peak ( oct-May ) flight to USA in economy. Also, AA sells points to top off account for a much better value than QF
