I need help and advice. My wife and I are booked CC with MFU from LHR to Chicago in a couple of weeks. Unfortunately she can not travel on the day booked but a few days later and the only flight that can get her to Chicago for the family event we are going for is on AA flight. Despite the fact that we paid premium economy fare before the upgrade with miles, I have been told she has to be downgraded to economy (as there is no P+ class on AA). We still have to pay the change fee and for ticket re-issue. The return leg is unchanged. My wife unfortunately has had recent accident and surgery on her leg and travelling economy is not the best means of travel (DVT and so on). Is there a way around the problem without having to cough up for a new business class ticket? Why is the transfer between the AA and BA not seamless? Help!!!
