My flight is combination of den-iah with Continental, iah-lim with United, I land in Lima at 10:25 pm, will stay few hours at the airport and continue in the 5:40 am on a separate ticket from Lima to Cuzco.

Because we want to ensure our luggage will be checked all the way from Denver to Lima we will fly Taca who has luggage agreement with Continental and United.

I wanted assure myself that even if the luggage will be delayed somehow, it will get to Cuzco and we do not have to wait for it at Lima airport.

I called Taca, United and Continental, each one of them gave me a different answer.

Do you have any experience with this? What would you suggest to do?
we can not take only carry on, there'll be camping equipment in our bags.
