Tips on scoring First Class to London with Mileage Plan Mile

Hi everyone,

I've used my miles on AS a few times and it's been simple and easy with the award calendar.... Now I'm planning a trip to England for next spring (April/May 2012) and want to use miles for First/Biz class.

When I search online on AS.com (for random days in March since you can't book April/May yet), all I find is first class on the domestic leg and coach on the overwater leg (all listings are on American too).

Anyone have any recommendations from past experience? Should I call and seek assistance from Customer Care as soon as the days become available to book? Is there a way to check American, Delta, and BA's inventory?

Appreciate any tips!
