Just last week my party of 4 flew back from LAX to MEL and we experienced an unusual Op-Up situation. Mrs D747 and I were on discount y fares. My 2 daughters were on Classic FF Points bookings, also in y. The bookings were separate PNRs, but had notes in each linking them. As we went to board our flight all our BP's beeped. I was handed a PE replacement BP, so was Mrs 747 as was oldest daughter. My feeling of ecstasy was short lived as my youngest daughter was handed her new seat, but still in y! Naturally I asked the question straight away and was told to wait. We ended up with 3 in PE and the other in y!
A. Has anyone else experienced a similar situation?
B. Any guesses as to who sat where?
C. Qantas admitted they made a mistake!
Daughters ages are 16 and 20. The was no other seats in PE or y. J had plenty of spare seats.
