Just to clarify - my coments weren't directed at you per se, but to the overall situation.

I would guess that most folk who book single rooms don't receive calls, but if someone is doing multiple rooms such as you they probably would get calls such as you have done.

I'm 50/50 on the email vs phone though. If someone is getting relatively close to an event, then I'd probably prefer the phone call as there are days (such as when I'm at a trade show running from morning to night) when I don't check email or check it only for critical client/journalist stuff & ignore the others until I have a block of time to get through things. I could see how others would prefer email due to early wake-up, but this one to me could go either way on which is optimal.

I actually keep my cell phone on because I prefer to use it as the wake-up call - or a back-up to the wake-up call, and because family can reach me in case of emergency. I normally don't get the family calls, but have gotten friends calling me at 3am when I'm in Europe because they assumed I was at home.

I do stand by my your reservation/profile doesn't always reflect your whereabouts/time zone, though. We've had examples in this thread where that's not the case.

Glad it worked out for you re: rooms, even if you missed a bit of shut-eye! FWIW - I feel your pain. It's really difficult for me to get back to sleep once I've been woken up.

Cheers.
