There was another couple (our friends) who went with us. They are also Amex Cent members and Fairmont Plat members. After we booked our room, they did the same thing as us. But they were not confirmed the Beach Area Casita Suite. They only had the Signature Casita confirmed. At check-in, all 4 of us showed up and the hotel realized that we all know each other, our friends got upgraded to the Beach Casita Suite too.
That was a nice weekend at Cancun. Even our AC flights got op-up as SEs.^
^^ That's working it like a pro.^ I mean, why only 2 nights?.. should have stayed for a few more.. but I guess with Centurion, you get perks at several different hotel chains.. where else did you guys stay during your trip?
I'll have to see what else AMEX Plat offers through the travel section.. but sounds like we are pretty much Guinea Pigs for a 14 night stay. I assume your WOW option is with AMEX FHR.. so I'm not sure if its still there.. but definitely not with Visa Signature.
It would be nice to get a Beach Casita Suite.. my wife likes the beach.. I guess reading the threads, there's not much of beach front as the property is long and narrow, and most of the rooms meander throughout the property. Please with kids, being close to the restaurant and front desk may be helpful (as the Signature Casita Suite is located near the front desk of the hotel). I've gotta remember Stinger's review of ensuring that we get a Signature Casita Suite by the turtle section.
No one's been upgraded at check-in to an Ocean Front Casita Suite then?
