Most of the casinos have specials for "NEW" members after they get a few points on the card such a "free" play, a buffet or something. If you sign up online, you don't qualify. When you do sign up, be sure to ask about the new member specials since some agents don't tell you without prompting.
Ya, and most of the time there's no lineups at the counters anyways so you don't save much time. It's always nice for them to explain whatever promos available, like the $200 sign up offer at Tropicana is pretty confusing.
