Think outside the box, meaning ATL. I'm doing this trip in a few days, CLT-SMF for $245 a/i with 6 segments total, over 6k MQMs.

Delta still has 5/10-5/16 and 5/11-5/16 for $243 a/i, with 10:50pm departure from SMF on 5/16. CLT-SMF, connecting through CVG and -- drumroll, please -- ATL. Nice, functional MR for 6,186 MQMs.

The bearable 3-plus hr drive from the ATL is definitely worth the extra 1,500 MQMs and $150 savings! And parking is cheaper at CLT.
