Interesting story. 2 years ago, I was going through a checkpoint in DEN and as I had done many time, I had my keys in my carryon bag. Attached to my keyring is a totally inert, non functioning bullet. Basically all it is a piece of lead with a shell casing. The only damage I could ever possible do with it would be throw it super fast. It was sold as a novelty item and like I stated, it has gone through dozens of checkpoints without a second look. Until that last time I went through the TSA checkpoint. One overzealous Airport Security Screener told me it wasnt allowed. After calling the TSA "idiots" (not this agent personally but the TSA as a whole) that got me a nice chat with a local LEO and confiscation of my keyring.
But think how much *safer* we are now!
