I'm a bit confused. Which airline did you fly? A search on AS for random dates SEA-LIM turns up 60k business seats, but on AA metal (which you could get equally well with AA miles as with AS, given that they see the exact same inventory at that award level).

The only partner AS gets you for flights to LIM is DL, which most agree is not worth much for redeeming anyway.

ETA: Though I agree with most others that it looks like AS is the way to go for the OP.
