Star Gold Access to Domestic RCC and PC (YVR-SFO-IAH-CLT)?
I've researched the websites, looked for similar threads on here and asked these questions on other FT forums, but I'm still getting conflicting answers.
My questions relate to being able to access domestic (US) lounges (Red Carpet Club and Presidents Club) without having a paid membership to either.
I'm a Star Alliance-Gold member (US-Gold).
Next Friday I'll be flying this route: YVR-SFO-IAH-CLT. All booked on same CO itinerary (YVR-SFO on UA metal).
(Crazy routing I know, but it was the lowest fare and I'll pick up some extra miles.)
Here is what the Star Alliance website states
Star Alliance Gold Customers Traveling in Any Class: Customers have access to any Star Alliance member carriers' owned lounges with the Star Alliance Gold logo at the entrance.
* Customer must present a valid frequent flyer programme Star Alliance Gold level card
* Customer must also present a boarding card for a same day Star Alliance flight departing from the local airport
* Customer is entitled to one guest
* Continental, United, and US Airways Star Alliance Gold customers may only access the Presidents Club, Red Carpet Club and US Airways Clubs within the U.S. when travelling in conjunction with a Star Alliance international flight.
So my questions are:
1) Will I be able to access the Red Carpet Club at SFO since I'll have a 3 hr layover at SFO in conjunction with an arriving international flight (YVR-SFO)?
2) And since I'll also be laying over in IAH on the same itinerary, would I be allowed access to the President's Club at IAH?
This might sound like simple questions, but like I said I can't get a straight answer and I don't travel "international" often. I appreciate any insight.
