Help me out here fellow renters. I rent from Avis at least twice a month. As Preferred Select, I think I'm kind of savvy by using the PS website to book and put in whatever AWD codes might work best (Costco has been good to me) to get the best rate.

However at DC2 last Sunday the agent told me that I would get a better rate if I just went on the regular Avis website and put in no AWD codes. Huh???

Then she said not to put in my Wizard Number because that will link up to whatever Corporate Rates are linked with that ... none that I know of are in there -- I am my own "corporation" and set this whole wizard thing up myself.

So I asked, how am I supposed to reserve a car without my Wizard number? I don't want to wait in line - I like the Preferred Service". The Reply: "the Wizard number has nothing to do with Preferred Select"

What the heck? Can anyone decipher this ... or do you think she was just screwing with me? (Can't take these DC agents ... I'm about to switch to Hertz!)
