Clearly, the young woman who called me had just been given a list of people to call to check on. The California area code, plus the California address in my MR account should have been a clue, but she didn't think to look. I think she will in the future.

I don't know if they can see my past stays, but if they can, a look at them would have made it clear that six rooms is not unusual for me.

I do understand wanting to check. This is a hotel in Lexington, KY on the weekend of the Rolex (a busier weekend for Lexington than Derby weekend, because the event is in Lexington). Everything is booked solid.

I'm actually a bit concerned now. My rooms are all two bedroom suites at a Residence Inn. I need every one of my eighteen beds (inc. sofa beds). Some of my rooms need to sleep five. Every so often at Residence Inns (yes, I'm talking about you, Dallas Park Central) I arrive to be told that they have no two bedrooms. They generally just give us extra studios, and this works out fine (except for the MR point discrepancy caused by having twice the rooms at half the price, generally fixed with a phone call). We could get away with eleven+ studios, but given that the hotel is sold out, I'd be stunned if they exist.

I don't know how being walked plays out with multiple rooms. Most other area Marriotts only show one room available (so they're probably oversold). There's a nearby Courtyard that may have enough rooms (I can only check three at a time), and I chose the Residence Inn because the space and free breakfast are important to me. After that there's a Fairfield half an hour away in Frankfort. So now I'm nervous. Think I'll call back today and see how likely this is to go bad.
Given the demand for the time you've booked, I can understand why they would call to confirm. If the woman who called was just given a list of people to call and their phone numbers, I can understand why she'd have called when she did. It's very likely she didn't know which area codes were in which time zone, and just started calling people.

I'd politely call the GM, explain that the call inquirng about if you needed all 6 rooms has you concerned that when you arrive, you'll be told that not all of your rooms are available, and would explain that yes, you need every room you reserved as 2 bedroom suites to be 2 bedroom suites when you arrive. Ask now, how he will handle it, given the projected demand, if these suites aren't available for you when you arrive.
