Why should they care? They're playing with other people's money (taxpayers). Either the government will get sued and have to pay damages (taxpayer money) or the screener will have to endure cancer treatments/birth defect treatments (insurance money, tax/medicare money, medicaid money). TSA doesn't have to care, and no one will be held accountable while the taxpayer pays and pays and pays.
