You can say that again. The guy had arrived from the US, missed his JNB connection due to weather, and was now seated in front of me in WBC on the next day's flight. He asked the purser several times for reassurances that his firearm was on board, which were duly given. Only just before departure was he informed that it was not, and that nobody had any idea what had become of it. He was not very pleased!
