Westin is really IN Copley Square, Sheraton is 3 blocks west, much closer to the Fenway area. Depending on where your plans are, Westin is going to generally be closer to more things than the Sheraton is, other than Fenway Park.
Umm...okay. I lived in Boston for years so I am intimately familiar with the location. It's been previously mentioned that the properties are very close to one another. So, to say one is "much" closer to anything is probably a stretch.
In the dead of winter, I guess I would prefer to be three blocks closer to where I was going...but, location should NOT be a differentiating factor when deciding between these two hotels.
If you are Platinum, I think you would get a better overall experience at the Sheraton for the reasons I list. YMMV.
