MC coverage is primary if you decline CDW (and have no other insurance that applies in Italy). If you are forced to accept Avis CDW, you have no coverage under MC. I also have an MC Platinum; the insurance coverage section states: “You may be unable to use this service in …Italy. Please contact your car rental company before you travel.” This makes me a bit nervous. I would be interested to hear your experience in renting in Venice. I will be also be using AWD D086689 in Italy.
