Comparing Boston Hotels

Am staying in Boston using mostly points. Staying with my wife and teen boy. Have narrowed down to the Westin Copley and the Sheraton. With the sheraton, I would be getting their standard room with cash and points. I will be able to get two rooms for $120 plus points a night. At the Westin, there is no cash and points deal so I would only be able to get one room and would have to share it with my son. My main concern is that we want to stay at a quality hotel and, from what I have read, The Westin is nicer. Which makes more sense. I don't mind sharing a room if the overall experience would be better. Also, is it possible to get an upgrade if you are paying with cash and points at the Sheraton?
