I understand why people do it, but I refuse to stop wearing skirts while flying. It bothers me that so often the advice is to purchase something to avoid TSA issues ('approved' laptop bag, for instance)
The fact that we continue to change our behaviours really bothers me. It is just one more way that they have power over us.
I agree. I have already changed my travel attire per TSA nonsense (avoiding baggy clothes), and resent it deeply. The idea that I will now have to think of ways of keeping their hands away from me is very bothersome. Luckily I never travelled in skirts, but I am certainly not going to purchase overalls, or one piece underwear. This is ridiculous! If some TSO decides to stick their hands into my pants, I may end up not flying. So far, I have lucked out (helped by strategic positioning) and not had to opt out, but it is bound to happen...
