I typically just look back. If the guy behind me is reclined, then I'll recline. Otherwise I don't. Rocket recliners need to be smacked in the head, but especially in FC, I don't mind if someone reclines into me.

In coach my legs are long enough where the front seat often can't recline at all, but doesn't keep them from trying for long enough to bruise the crap out of my knees.
