Just an update on my earlier post about the poor service Jan. 2001 at the LAS Alamo location. Due to all of the other major problems that I experienced I had not included this minor incident.
I had not mentioned that the Counter agent would not accept a free rental day coupon even though the coupon was noted as accepted on my e-mail reservation confirmation (unfortunately I did not bring a copy of my confirmation). I sent a short letter to Alamo HQ with the coupon and the hard copy of the confirmation.
I got a voicemail about three weeks later with an apology and telling me that a ~$20 credit had been made to my AMEX. At least the Alamo HQ folks are responsive.
