To be honest this is no improvement at all.
Milan/Florence are 200 miles apart so you can't do both in 3 nights!
Rome/Naples are 150 miles apart so you can't do both in 3 nights!
Interlaken/Lucerne are not the same place either...
Have you added up the number of miles this trip will cover, and so the number of hours in transit (not forgetting the time waiting at stations)? I reckon it's 1500-2000 miles so dozens of hours just travelling.
Seriously, for 14 nights I would do:
Rome
Florence or Venice
Somewhere in the Swiss Alps to relax after the cities
