Extended stay at hotel (5 days) 2 seperate reservations. One for 3 days used a bonus buck. And closed out reservation. Started a new reservation using BOGO EEO certificate. No problems at the desk during my stay. (Other then they keep misplacing certificates, common occurance for me at Marriotts). Then 2 weeks later they charge my Credit Card for the second night. The way I typically have handled this kind of situation where I wanted to use 2 seperate deals over a longer (typically 4 day weekend stay) is to split my reservation - one in my name and one in the name of the Mrs. Alternately, if another Marriott is nearby and convenient just move to the other property. There are just too many chances that things may go wrong if you are at the same property and all reservations are in the same name.
As for how to proceed, I'd start with an nicely worded email to Marriott customer service that you were misinformed and go from there.
