TSA makes no mention on its website about toner cartridges being banned, but a friend mentioned it to me. I found a TSA press release stating that Toner cartridges more than 16 oz are banned on all INCOMING flights to the US, but made no mention on OUTBOUND flights from the US.

Has anyone had recent experience with taking laser toner cartridges on outbound flights? I am a foreign student and plan on buying a laser printer and toner cartridges when I visit the US. Thanks.
