I am so glad that you suggested the London Eye...I had wanted to take her on it, but I met three visitors to London last week who didn't enjoy it...so was a little weary about taking her on it. Thanks so much!

I've always thought a nighttime walk around St. Katherine Dock was romantic... hundreds of lights reflected in the water of the marina & the river and Tower Bridge as a backdrop.
I love St Katherine's Dock, but again, didn't really know what a tourist may think of it.....thank you very much indeed for the suggestion...it is much appreciated and I will take her there.

Just on a side note.....a very close friend's grandmother sold her entire barrel factory in St Katherine's Dock for £800 in 1969....their family just look at it as they drive pass now.....wondering what if.........

Work usually puts me up at the Churchill Hyatt. When my wife comes we walk down to St Christopher's Place for dinner at least once. Not sure what locals think of the area, but it fits the bill well for a tourist couple like us wanting a nice meal/nice enough ambiance/great people watching spot.
I had thought of walking around the area near Vinopolis...around Southwark Cathedral, and along the Thames, but I hadn't actually thought of stopping at Vinopolis....thank you for the suggestion! Unfortunately, she is coming midweek, so Borough Market will not be open.

And thank you.....that is a really good idea to walk around with her and letting her just pick somewhere in that type of area, like St Christopher's Place....thank you! I must confess...I usually stay away from there since my ex-wife and I didn't like the chains, like Sofra and Carluccio's, and so we never got round to looking at the other places nearby, which always seemed to be filled with tourists....but my girlfriend would really like it there....I would never have thought of it....thanks so much!
